Very gusty 20-25 knots, swinging cross on to cross off, with low period mush burger 🍔 swell, but had an absolute ball! The Aura V2 is a very smooth, very comfortable ride handling the gusts with ease, due to the wing tips that flex and slew of gusts. I thought it would affect pumping up power, but the stiff KPE165 leading edge and the 8 psi locked off strut, make for a very stiff frame, that I was easily able to pump up on. Not as much pull as the VVING V3, but that’s exactly what I want, less on/off power and a smoother ride, so I can control when I want the power and when I want it off. This is hugely beneficial for beginners /intermediates and wave riders, sheeting in to get up wind and or depowering to gybe or luff out the wing.
As you can see it luffed and tacked extremely well! Exactly what I wanted it do! I need to improve my back hand wing game, but i find that tricky in some winds and changing direction so much.. All in all, the lightest and best surf wing I’ve ever used, with all the high quality features of X-ply windows, carbon handles, (full boom available), SUP inflate valve, smooth leading edge and ability to point up wind and the new leash was perfect too! Well done to @horn.philip and the @vayu.world team 👏 👏
Riding the Code Foils 720 S, short fuse, 142 tail and 0.5, which turns so well, with the perfect balance of bottom end lift and top end speed..
Sunova_surfboards Carver working a treat to get me easy lift off, but narrow outline at 20” wide, so I don’t catch rail when leaning over hard to turn or get upwind.. 👌 Third year of foiling and loving how many different kinds of conditions I can get out in, from turning my front yard into a play ground and making unrideable waves and sections, everyday foiling.. what a time to be involved in its evolution as the gear gets better and better!
